Mount Erebus black & white. McMurdo Station can be seen at the base of the mountain. The snow berms in the foreground are for storing the airfield equipment on over the winter so things don't get buried in the blowing snow.

Snow leak. All this snow came in through the the tiny gaps of the rubber seal  around the door. The snow is incredibly fine, and the strong winds will force it in anywhere air can pass.

Looking north behind McMurdo Station, an aurora hangs in the sky above the dome that houses the NASA satellite ground station on the ridge.
